Level 3 Early Years Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our well established pre-school team.  Houghton Conquest pre-school is a school run setting and provides a ‘home from home’ feel in an enhanced and stimulating environment for staff and children.  It offers immediate access to an amazing wrap around outside space for stimulating experiences in our rural village location.

Candidates must have:

•           Relevant level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent required
•           Experience of special educational needs would be an advantage
•           A good understanding of the EYFS
•           A good understanding of safeguarding practices
•           The ability to advance children’s learning, through high quality experiences and activities
•           Excellent communication skills with both adults and children
•           Cleared DBS check
•           You will be required to use your own initiative, be creative and lead by example as an exemplary role model.

Salary Range:  Level 3A SCP 5- 7  £19312 – £20092 (Pro-Rata)
Hours:  Monday-Friday 8.30 – 4.00 term time only.  Plus 5 INSET days

Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) Post
School and Pre-School

We are looking for enthusiastic, responsible and proactive Midday Supervisors to join our small, friendly and fun village school.

Your role will be working across our main school and preschool settings and we can offer you a supportive workplace, with support from our dedicated teaching team.

Houghton Conquest Lower School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

Hours; 12.00 to 1.15pm, 5 days per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days.
Salary will be at Level SCP 1, £9.25 per hour.

Caretaker with Supervisory

Salary Range:  Level 3A SCP 4-6  £18933 – £19698 (Pro-Rata)
Hours:  Monday-Friday 7.30am – 8.30am, the additional hour per day will be flexible, 50 weeks a year. Plus 5 INSET Days

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our well established school team, for a caretaker.

Houghton Conquest Lower School provides a ‘home from home’ feel in an enhanced and stimulating environment for staff and children, in a rural village location.

We are seeking to appoint a hard working conscientious Caretaker to join our friendly team, to ensure that the school is open at the start of each school day and safe for use.

The supervision of contractors to the school is required including, cleaners, legionella control and grounds maintenance. The management of contractors on site to carry out works during the holiday periods is essential.

The role will include working closely with the School Business Manager, but will also require you to work independently.

Regular compliance checks are required, including fire extinguishers, daily site check, asbestos reviews etc therefore, accurate records must be kept. It may also include some cleaning where required and some small works such as painting and decoration or small DIY tasks. You must be able to work within timescales. Experience of record keeping would be beneficial to the role.

The appointed individual will also undertake the responsibility of key holder.

All essential health and safety training courses, including training in asbestos/COSHH procedures must be attended to ensure the school complies with all legislation as determined by the management of the school and/or the LA.

Please note that this can sometimes be a physically demanding role and involves some lifting and carrying.
