The Friends of Houghton Conquest Lower School is a registered charity, run by a group of volunteers who organise fundraising events and school activities for the children of the Lower School and Pre-School.
The primary focus for the charity is to deliver fun and family friendly fundraising events, which generate revenue to be solely utilised to benefit the children in their ongoing learning and personal development. We work closely with the school to target support where it can be effective and make a difference. Some of our previous fundraising events have included:
Through the dedicated efforts of the Friends charity, we have managed to raise funds to deliver several large-scale projects over the years, spending over £23,000 in the past 5 years alone. These projects have included:
All parents across the whole school are welcome to apply to join our committee and to attend our monthly meetings, which will be advertised on the Friends noticeboards on the school driveway.
As you can imagine, the work we do is invaluable to the school and indeed, our children. Because of this we always need volunteers to assist us with, or lead, our various activities. If you can dedicate a small amount of time and are interested in helping in any way, please speak to a committee member or email the team direct on firstname.lastname@example.org.
